What kind of game are you developing?
we’re building a realistic indie MMORPG named Ancient World Online with deep progression, strategic combat, and a living world shaped by the players. Think chaos, choices, and meaningful gameplay not just grind.
When will the game be released?
We’re currently in active development – Alpha version. We’ll share timelines, playtest phases, and major updates through our newsletter and dev blog – stay tuned!
Can I play the game now?
Not yet, but we’ll announce closed playtests soon.

What platforms will the game be available and published on?
The core focus is on PC. We’re exploring other platforms based on demand and funding.
The game will be published initially on Steam. We’re also considering releasing it on possibly other PC game launchers. Wishlist the game on Steam to stay notified of all future updates and release phases.
Will the game be free-to-play or paid?
The game will not be free-to-play. Instead, players will purchase the game with a one-time fee, which includes one month of subscription for free. After that, a mandatory subscription is required to continue playing. Players can also choose to buy optional DLCs (such as new maps or races) and optional cosmetic in-app purchases.
We chose this monetization model over free-to-play because free-to-play games often suffer from issues like pay-to-win mechanics, unfair advantages for paying players, and content being locked behind constant microtransactions. With our model, we ensure the game is fair and balanced, where all core content is available to all players without hidden costs that affect gameplay. This also allows us to consistently provide high-quality services, including reliable server hosting, database management, and ongoing game updates, without compromising the player experience.
Can I move my character to a different server?
Not at the moment, server transfers are not currently supported. We’re focused on building a stable and balanced world first, but this feature may be considered in future updates based on player demand.
Why was my account blocked for illegal program use?
Your account may have been blocked if our system detected the use of unauthorized third-party programs, client modifications, or cheat tools that violate our Terms of Service. We take fairness seriously to protect all players. If you believe this was a mistake, please contact support with details for further review.
Can I be unbanned for Illegal Program Use?
No. Accounts banned for using illegal programs, cheats, or unauthorized modifications will not be unbanned. These actions violate our Terms of Service and compromise the integrity of the game for all players.
Why is the server crowded?
The server is currently experiencing high traffic and has reached the maximum number of allowed players. This helps maintain stability and performance for everyone.
Why was I disconnected from server?
Disconnections can happen for several reasons, such as:
Idle timeout: If you stay inactive for more than 20 minutes, you may be disconnected to free up space for other players.
Network issues: Unstable or weak internet connections can cause interruptions.
Server maintenance or instability: Occasionally, we may restart or update servers to improve performance.
If the issue persists, try checking your connection or contact support for help.
When does the server go down for maintenance?
Server maintenance is scheduled every Tuesday.
The exact time and duration may vary depending on the updates or fixes being applied.
We’ll always do our best to notify players in advance through official channels like our website or community pages.

My account was hacked or scammed, what do I do?
We’re sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, Oriented Pain Studio does not currently offer item or character restoration. We strongly recommend reviewing our Account Security Policy and ensuring your email and passwords are secure. If you believe your account was compromised, please contact support immediately so we can investigate and help protect your account from further harm.
Can I get refund for my cyber money?
Refunds for cyber money (in-game currency) and renewable subscriptions are subject to the refund policy of the platform you purchased from (e.g., Steam, Epic Games Store, etc.).
On Steam, in-game purchases and subscriptions are generally non-refundable unless:
The request is made within 14 days of purchase, and
You have less than 2 hours of total playtime on the game.
For renewable subscriptions, Steam allows cancellation at any time. If you cancel within 48 hours of initial purchase or renewal — and haven’t used any benefits — you may be eligible for a refund.
We recommend checking the refund policy on the specific platform where you made your purchase:
If your purchase does not meet the platform’s refund criteria, we unfortunately cannot process a refund ourselves.
Can I change the name of my character?
No. Character name changes are not currently supported. Please choose your name carefully when creating your character.
Can I delete my characters?
Yes, but character deletion is not immediate. For security reasons, it takes up to 7 days for a character to be permanently deleted.
Before the process begins, we’ll ask you to verify your identity to ensure the request is legitimate and intentional.
I want to report a bot user. What should I do?
If you suspect a player is using a bot or automated tools, please report them using the in-game report system or contact our support team with the following details:
The character name of the suspected bot
The server they’re on
A brief description of the behavior you observed
Your reports help us keep the game fair and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you for your vigilance!
Can stealing be reported?
If the incident happened within the secure in-game exchange system, theft is not possible the system is designed to prevent scams and unauthorized item transfers.
However, if you were involved in a trade or agreement outside the game (such as on social media, real money trading, or unofficial platforms), please note that this is against our Terms of Service, and we are not responsible for any loss or scam that occurs as a result. These actions are considered illegal and not supported.
To protect yourself, always use the official in-game systems and avoid external deals.

Will there be alpha or beta testing?
Yes! We’ll roll out closed alpha and beta tests in phases. Early supporters and newsletter subscribers will get first access.
